The New Tax Revolt
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Why do we keep sending money to support failed policy,

Local Government's do not have a revenue problem, they have a spending problem. Rather than focus on core services, cities have increasingly directed dollars to non core functions. When they run out of money or have constituencies that become dependent on a source of funds, they raise taxes.
Take LA City for example. It is projected to take in over $8 BILLION in revenue yet the city streets looks like they have been hit by a asteroid storm while broken sidewalks, poorly maintained parks, untrimmed trees and failing infrastructure is the norm.
The ULA tax in the City of LA has been a nightmare and appears to line the pockets of activists organizations who in turn call for more taxes and regulations. The county of Los Angeles is proposing a new sales tax to fund healthcare as homeless encampments proliferate. Zealots and ideologues are proposing a wealth on UNREALIZED gains at the state level and California has the highest gas taxes in the nation.
We are not anti-tax, but we are certainly should not be willing to support new taxes unless we see results from existing sources.
